Duchas de obra, de las cosas que más hago y de las que más disfruto haciendo. Veo muchísimas posibilidades de ser creativo y de atreverse con materiales, colores o formas diferentes.
Y ya que tantas veces me piden sustituir una bañera por un plato de ducha, hoy les voy a dedicar una entrada a todos aquellos que todavía se lo están pensando. Espero que tengáis aquí una fuente de inspiración y nuevas ideas para acometer un proyecto que no es muy engorroso y que, sin embargo, nos hace la vida más fácil.
Lo importante es pensar que no pasa nada por no tener los mismo azulejos que el resto del baño. Podemos utilizar materiales totalmente diferentes. La ducha es un mundo aparte.
A mi particularmente me gustan las duchas de obra más que los platos prefabricados, algunos proyectos ya os los enseñé aquí, y hoy muestro más ejemplos que se me han ido acumulando en mi carpeta de inspiración y que espero que también os sirvan a vosotros.

Built in showers are my trademark. Really, I´m requested to do a lot of them and it´s the kind of project that I love doing!! I see lots posibilities to try different materials, colors, shapes, etc. 
And since changing a bathtub for a built in shower, is one of the projects which I´m mostly requested to pursue, I´m dedicating this entry to those of you thinking about doing it but haven´t quite made up your mind. 
One important thing, is to bear in mind that not having the same tiles as the rest of the bathroom will not be a problem at all! The shower is a whole different world inside the bathroom. 
I already showed a few shower projects  here, and today I´ll show you more examples that have been piling up in my inspiration folder, hoping they are usefull for you too.

Baldas para lavabos

El uso de baldas como soporte para los lavabos es una opción que da ligereza al baño además de ser económica y de absoluta tendencia.
Ahora que los lavabos de sobreponer están tan de moda, hay que aprovechar para darle al baño un aspecto actual, sin recargar.
Alguna de las opciones más vistas es la balda de madera. Según el grosor y el tamaño variará mucho el precio, pero podemos utilizar varios tableros unos sobre otros, para darle más grosor a la balda, que reduciría considerablemente el precio.
No olvidemos colocar las válvulas de desagüe cromadas si elegimos esta opción.

Using shelves as the base for sinks is a cheap way to make our bathrooms modern and airy looking. Now that countertop sinks are so IN, we can make a change without much trouble. 
Wooden shelves are the most common. Price will vary depending on the width, but if we use a couple of wooden boards one on top of the other,  we can achive the same look at much lower price. 
Don´t forget to use silver color drains when choosing this option.

Otra opción es el mármol, granito, silestone, etc. Estos material viene de fábrica en planchas de 2 cm de grosor. Una vez se diseñe la encimera, se le suele pedir al fabricante que haga un zócalo en el frente para evitar que se vean las conexiones y que de una apariencia más robusta.

Other materials commonly used are marble, granite, silestone, etc. These are available in 2cm. width, so we always ask for a front plinth or skirting to have a more robust appearance and also to hide all the plumbing or the sink´s bottom.

También se pueden realizar las encimeras de obra y revestidas como el resto del baño. Pero si no quieres meterte con arena y cemento, simplemente se puede hacer la balda o el cajón de DM y revestirlo igualmente. Esta es una solución más limpia.

Here, you can see how the countertop is made with the same ceramic material as the rest of the bathroom. If you want to make it simple and avoid all sand and cement work, have the shelf of box made with DMF and cover it with ceramic afterwards.

También me encantan los soportes de Microcemento, que como ya os comenté es rápido de aplicar, sin juntas de dilatación y con unos acabados increíbles.

And lastly, don´t forget Microcement. Fast to apply, no joints, waterproof and with great finishes.

Baños con Tratamiento de Salón

Para mí, los baños deben tener "Tratamiento de Salón", se acabó el "mobiliario bañil"

Ya en su momento os comenté que cualquier mueble vale para colocar bajo un lavabo (aquí), pues hoy le toca al resto del baño. 

En los baños TODO VALE. ¿No os habéis dado cuenta, que cualquier mueble, cuadro, baúl, silla, adorno, etc. que no encuentra su sitio en ningún lugar de la casa, SIEMPRE QUEDA PERFECTO EN EL BAÑO? Pues lo que quiero decir es que los baños hay que decorarlos de la misma forma que el resto de la casa y no limitarnos a colgar toalleros monos. 

Ya sé que con 40 m2 para baño, cualquiera haría un baño ideal (bueno cualquiera no, pero todas nosotras seguro que sí), pero yo no me quiero referir al espacio, que obviamente ayuda, sino al detalle. Así que aparte de pensar que lo baños que os muestro no son "reales", busca la inspiración para el tuyo. Ya verás que hay cuadros, cortinas, esculturas, lámparas, sillas, alfombras, mesas, chimeneas.....

Y aunque ninguna de nosotras tengamos un baño así, como dice Mac, "hay que educar el gusto"

To me, we should give bathrooms the "living-room treatment", that is decorating them as if they were any other place of the home. A few posts ago I showed how any piece of furniture was perfect for a vanity (here) and now is the rest of the bathroom´s turn.
Haven´t you ever notice that any chair, picture, frame, sconce, table.... that does not find its place in the house, LOOKS ALWAYS PERFECT IN THE BATHROOM? Yes!! everything goes with bathrooms!
And I know, that with 40 m2, anyone could create a beautiful bathroom (well, not everyone, but all of us would), but I´m not talking about space, but about details in that space. In the pictures below you will find carpets, drapes, tables, fireplaces, lamps, etc. inside bathrooms, so instead of thiking these are not "real" bathrooms, I hope you find the inspiration in them to work on yours. We must educate our taste as well.
