Rayas negras y blancas

Tengo un par de rollos de papel de rayas negras y blancas desde hace tiempo y nunca tengo muy claro dónde ponerlo.

Sé que me gusta, pero en dosis pequeñas, nunca lo pondría en sitios de mucho uso ni en paredes que se vieran desde varios sitios de la casa. Por ejemplo, no me gusta en el salón pero sin embargo, si que lo pondría en una pared de la cocina, en algún pasillo, en el vestidor, alguna pared del aseo.....Ya me entendéis, ¡que no acabe harta de verlo y lo tenga que quitar a los dos meses!

I have a couple of black and white wallpaper rolls left over and I´m not sure where to put them around the house.

I know I like these stripes, although in small dosis. I don´t think I´d ever have them in spaces where I spend a lot of time, or over walls I can see from different places in the house. I´d have them in the kitchen, in a powder room, in the dresser.... You know, some place where it wouldn´t end up tiring.

Y algo así, me gusta más.... Un sólo paño de pared o cubriendo sólo media altura.
I like them better this way, only one panel, or half way up....

Pero la verdad es que como mejor quedan estas rayas es en los complementos, ahí si que me convencen del todo.

Colores que dan paz

Imagino que es una obviedad decirlo, pero hay colores que sosiegan y otros que alteran. Hoy quería enseñaros algunos espacios que invitan al descanso y que dan paz, principalmente por la paleta de colores que se ha elegido para su decoración, paredes, textiles, mobiliario, etc.
Los tonos más suaves son los que más se utilizan para conseguir ambientes relajados.
Aquí os dejo con algunos ejemplos:
It may sound obvious but some colors are soothing and resting and others are not. Today I wanted to show spaces that provide a peaceful sensation mainly because the color palette chosen for their decoration; walls, textiles, furniture....
The softest and lightest hues are the most used for providing this peaceful feeling and below you may find a few examples. 

El color topo que tanto hemos mencionado y que tanto éxito tiene últimamente combinado con blanco y con madera da un resultado perfecto. Algún toque de negro lo hará más elegante.
Taupe, so trendy lately, combined with whites and woods is a perfect example. A touch of black not only will relax but will also become more elegant.

Detrás del sofá

Está generalizada la idea de que las traseras de los sofás deben ir contra una pared, principalmente porque el espacio parecerá más amplio, diáfano y estético si no existe la barrera física que se presenta con un sofá de espaldas a la entrada. Pero en realidad no siempre existe la posibilidad de esa distribución abierta y en muchos casos, para optimizar los espacios no queda más remedio que ver la espalda de un sofá.

A mi no me importa nada ver la parte de atrás de un sofá siempre y cuando la distribución de los muebles se haya hecho de manera coherente sacando el máximo partido al espacio o para separar ambientes, así que hoy os muestro una selección de fotos llenas de ideas para decorar la parte trasera del sofá y que la barrera física que se presenta esté más decorada y en muchos casos sea muy práctica.

There is a widely accepted idea in decorating a home that backs of  sofas are better placed against walls, basically because rooms will look larger and more open if there´s no physical barrier like a couch acroos the entrance. But not always do we have the possibility of having a perfect furniture lay out in our living rooms, and in some cases to optimize the space, the only option is to have the back of the sofa facing the entrance of the room.
 
If the lay out is thouhgt out to maximize the space, or done specifically to separate areas in one same room, I don´t mind seeing the back of a sofá at all! Today I´m showing you some ideas for decorating sofas´ backs!

Y a veces colocamos muebles detrás del sofá para decorar o porque no hay mesas auxiliares a los lados.

And sometimes we add a console to the back of the sofá just to decorate or beacause there´s no space for side tables.
